Courtney tells me that @nycacc has a bunch of senior dogs and that people are all idiots that don't want a senior dog. Her teeth aren't amazing anymore so she doesn't chew up anything. We can leave her alone in the apartment for a decent amount of time and things aren't destroyed when we come home. Not my first buildup, but the first that I'm keeping for my own. Mixing a neck p-90 with a tele-style bridge pickup. Used colored permanent marker for the writing so that when I brushed on the finish it would run and smear a bit. Not a great piece of wood for the body and the person who was throwing it away was doing so because they had gotten the centerline wrong and the cavity spacing was off and yada yada yada. It's always been hard marketing this band because a huge part of the philosophy behind the songs and the shows and the whatnot is transparency and not pretending that we're somehow already supercool superstars or secret musical or lyrical geniuses. It's about us honestly being us in all our actual imperfections (Not just ones scripted to be seen on camera or onstage) and sometimes (for me most times) awkwardness. Latest out of the shop @lizzyguitars . Just finished building these custom Filtertron-style pickups for @mjwesq ! A lot of "Filtertron" pickups these days simply use a humbucker-sized bar magnet in their build. But to get a true filtertron sound, you need thicker magnets. These are soldered into humbucker sized toaster covers, so they fit nicely into humbucker mounting rings.
